Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How does therapy work? Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to understand your challenges, set goals, and create a path to improve your well-being. During our sessions, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we develop actionable strategies that empower you to overcome obstacles and build a more fulfilling life.

2. How long does therapy take? The length of therapy varies depending on your needs and goals. Some clients find that a few sessions are enough to gain new insights and tools, while others may choose to work longer for deeper, ongoing support. I tailor the length and frequency of our sessions to best fit your personal journey.

3. What is the difference between coaching and therapy? Therapy focuses on mental health, emotional healing, and addressing past experiences that may be affecting your present. Coaching, on the other hand, is more future-focused, aiming to help you set and achieve personal or professional goals. While therapy helps you heal, coaching empowers you to reach your full potential.

4. What types of payment do you accept? I accept payment via major credit cards and electronic payment platforms. Payment is required at the time of service, and details will be discussed during our initial consultation.

5. Do you accept insurance? I currently accept Aetna, All Savers, Anthem, AvMed, CareFirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Golden Rule, Harvard Pilgrim/United Healthcare/Optum Johns Hopkins Healthcare, Oscar, Surest, Tufts Health/Cigna, United Medical Services, United Healthcare Shared Services, United Healthcare Student Resources, and United Healthcare/Optum.

6. What is telehealth, and how does it work? Telehealth allows us to conduct therapy sessions through secure video conferencing, making it convenient for clients who prefer remote services. All you need is a stable internet connection and a device with a camera. Telehealth ensures that you receive the same level of care as in-person therapy, from the comfort of your own space.

7. How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me? Choosing a therapist is an important decision, and it’s essential that you feel comfortable and connected. I offer a free initial consultation to help determine if we’re a good fit. During this time, you can ask questions, discuss your needs, and get a sense of my approach.

8. What can I expect during my first therapy session? During your first session, we’ll focus on understanding your concerns, discussing your background, and setting goals for our work together. It’s an opportunity for you to share what’s been challenging, and for us to begin creating a personalized plan to support your journey.

9. What if I’ve tried therapy before, but it didn’t work? Not all therapy experiences are the same, and sometimes it takes finding the right therapist or approach that resonates with you. I use evidence-based therapies tailored to your individual needs, and my goal is to create a supportive environment where you can make meaningful progress. If you’re open to trying again, I’d be honored to support you.

10. How do I get started? To get started, you can contact me through my website or email to schedule an initial consultation. This consultation will give us the chance to discuss your needs, answer any questions, and determine how I can best support you.
